The turmoil of 2020 caused by the coronavirus reinforces the truth of this African proverb. It also teaches us that helping those less privileged significantly relives their burden. This is especially meaningful for us as we support the vulnerable children and families of the Majengo Children’s Home (MCH) and the surrounding community.
To everyone who has enabled MCH to provide for hundreds of families and thousands of children within the community during this incredibly challenging year, thank you. We could not have done it without you.
Though many children and families have been supported in this time, we want to introduce you to Nengai, who has been given a chance thanks to your support. Nengai, which translates to “of God” in her first language of Kimasai, is a 6-year-old girl in Grade 1. She lives at home with her mother, father and two siblings and is supported through the Masai Girls Education Program.

MCH, through initiatives launched in response to the threat of the global pandemic, supplied Nengai’s family with handwashing supplies, coronavirus education, food subsidies and home schooling tools.
