Omary came to Majengo at age 10. At that time he wanted to be a politician and loved gardening. Today, he is exploring a lot of options at university as he waits to see what program he is accepted into – and he loves to paint.

After our RHD clinic in the field, the children requiring follow up echocardiograms come to Kirurumo Hospital in Mto Wa Mbu to see the doctors. Keeping close records of who comes in and the results help us see just how much the RHD program helps.

This year, we started a pilot project which delivered self-contained libraries to three schools in the area. These library shelves provide curriculum books and story books to schools that do not have adequate resources. The goal is to help the students gain critical literacy skills.
