Currently there is a global food crisis that is being driven by conflict, climate shocks and COVID-19. The number of people facing food insecurity is close to 345 million people in 82 countries today. Tanzania is one of these countries.

This past May #Majengo was happy to partner with Dr. Reed and FAME to host a cardiology clinic where we were able to help over 100 children from Majengo and the surrounding area!🩺💗

Currently, there is a global food crisis. People are starving.

At Majengo, we have started an Emergency Food Program which will support food security in the Majengo community.

$7 can provide a pre-schooler with a snack and breakfast for a week.

$36 can provide a Food Security Pack to a family in need.

$70 can provide a yearly School Food Security Pack for one student.

$336 can provide school meals to all our pre-schoolers for a week.

On the weekend we work on our chores around Majengo. One chore is cleaning the cow house. This year, we hope to install a biofuel system that would help us turn cow manure into gas for the stove. This is not only a great way to use resources (manure!) we already have, but it will save many trees in the process, and be much less expensive.🐄🔥

One project we are hoping to get off the ground this year is the installation of a biogas system in the kitchen. Installing this will eliminate any need for wood! In the long term it will save lots of trees, and be much more cost effective.🌳🌳🌳
